COVID-19 - City Service Updates

Beginning Monday, Oct. 12, City facilities will open to up to the limits as specified under the current Governor's Orders. If you want to contact departments before planning your visit, check our Staff Directory.

Per the Governor’s Executive Order no. GA-29, please wear a face covering or mask when visiting City offices or facilities. For more details on the order visit Gov.Texas.Gov.

The Garland Municipal Court has increased its on-line service options. You may pay a citation online or by mail at the address located on the back of your citation.

Garland libraries continue to offer curbside pickup services. Visit the Library website for details. 

The Landmark Museum is open for limited hours and private appointments.

Senior Services:

Since senior citizens are among our most vulnerable populations, senior centers will remain closed until further notice. Senior meal service is still available, learn more on the Senior Center page.

Special Events:

Many events have been canceled or modified, in compliance with Gov. Abbott’s orders. Monitor the City’s Special Events calendar and VisitGarlandTX.com for scheduling updates.

Utility Customer Service:

The City of Garland Utility Customer Service Department continues to work with customers who have fallen behind on their utility bills. To avoid disruption of service, please contact Customer Service at 972-205-2671 or CustServ@GarlandTX.gov. Representatives are standing by ready to help customers by providing extensions, payment plans or information about utility bill payment assistance programs. Please include your service address and account number in any correspondence.

You can help your neighbors with their utility bills by contributing to Provide Aid in Dollars (PAID). The option to contribute is available on your utility bill. Funds are distributed through the Salvation Army to economically challenged families.

Assistance and other resources:

Several rent and mortgage assistance programs related to COVID-19 are being prepared in conjunction with federal guidelines, as well as medical, counseling and other forms of assistance. Watch our website and social media pages for updates.

GarlandPublic WiFi is now available at all City buildings, including libraries, recreation centers, City Hall, theaters and more. Even while the buildings are closed, the GarlandPublic WiFi coverage extends outside and is available FREE. The terms and conditions, as well as a full list of locations, is available at GarlandTX.gov/WiFi.
